Ahem, Welcome to Crow's "How Did I Do That?" Corner

Today's Topic:     The 'Blair Witch Blue Frame' Graphics Project
{ Or, the Graphics part of Ver4/oldindex.html }

Reference Page to Save for Comparison: crowdesigns.apachego.com/ver4/oldindex.html

- Disclaimer: I've tried to reconstruct this so-called ' Graphics Tutorial' from memory. If I would have had hindsight aforesight, I would've taken screen shots of the project, but you know
how that goes. If you find any of these steps don't work, or that your Credit Card account has
suddenly been maxed out, it ain't my fault. If it involves a graphics step, though,
please email me with the precise problem and where you lost it, I'll get back to you -

Caution: Before undertaking this Project, be advised it will take considerable amount of time
away from you and your family if you have one. It is also annoying when you've been working
on something for awhile and you have to go back and start from 10 steps back, whatever they were.
Some Nerf Toys are good for Hand / CPU / Monitor Coordination Stress Relief  (H/CPU/MCSR)

Use of Handguns, Bowling Balls, Golf Clubs, Rocks, and/or Building Supplies not recommended.

If you've studied Surgery, How to be a Mortician,
a Meat Cutter, or worked for the Census Bureau,
Rand McNally, or are a Sewing Buff, you should
have no problems here. Use of Sharp Cutting Implements or other Instruments of Danger are
not required, but perseverance sure is, as well
as a touch of Obsessive/Compulsiveness.
(That's the 'Nice' name for the
'other' thing they call us at times)

These pictures are really compressed to
conserve load times, so they're not very
high quality, and some of the
words are hard to read, sorry.

There will be a large number
of layers in this project - lots
of duplicate and triplicate
copies. Don't worry, you'll
merge most of them towards
the end of this Graphics part
of the Project.

Save a Copy of each in .PSD
(PhotoShop) format for later
tweaks and stuff. You can
apply an effect, like Hue or
Color changes to all pieces
very easily.

For the Left Menu Set:
You'll be using section:  LM
I would make a couple of Copies
(New Layer) of it to fall back on.
You can always discard them later.

For the Top Menu Set:
You'll use section:  TM
Everything you do to make buttons
for the Left Menu, you do for the
Top Menu, if you want one.

I spelled the word: 'buttons' wrong
over there - too late to change it.
Ah, well.......

Now, make the Top Menu buttons.
Save EACH slice as as separate graphic,
including the Top Left Corner, the Top
Right Corner, & the Upper and Left Fillers.

You're done, I'd say, with the
Graphics part, for now anyway.
If you Saved the page below,
you can now see how to insert
the different graphics in the
right places, as well as see how
the Frameset and Frame settings
are configured. That tutorial would
have to be a whole 'nother project
on a whole 'nother day.
