How to Make Roll-Over Buttons
Another CrowDesigns PhotoShop Tip

Ok, here we go. There's more than one page for this Tutorial, as there are 13 Screen Shots to illustrate the steps.

( I get carried away possibly, but I'd rather not leave any room for doubt) This Tutorial will show you how to use Layers, also.
Don't worry, it's really not that difficult. I mean, if I can do it, I'm sure you can, too.

Step One:
Open PhotoShop. (I would imagine the steps are similar for PaintShop Pro, if you'd like to try)
Click on View/Layers to open the Layers palette, if it's not already open.
Now click on File/New and make it the size of the button you'd like to make. (You can always resize it later.)

Step 1

Step Two: Choose a color for the outside border of your button, click on the Paint Bucket and fill the area.

Step 2

Step Three
: Create a New Layer for the inner color of your Button. You will see that the new Layer 2 is Highlighted - pay
attention to this, as the highlighted area is the active Layer. (Tip: Press Control/+  to enlarge the view area)

Step 3

Step Four
: Select the Rectangle Tool while on Layer 2, and draw an inner rectangle inside the border, making sure the space is equal on all four sides.
