Lost your Windows XP Pro Administrator Password?

No biggie, if you can log on using another account with full Admin privileges.

Install TweakUI for XP (v2.01 for SP1)

Open TweakUI and go down to the Logon section.

Tick the box to Show "Administrator" on Welcome Screen.

Log off, and Log back on as your other account with Admin rights.

Now navigate to :  Start / Control Panel / User Accounts

Click on Change an Account and choose the (now showing) Administrator account.

Click  "Change the Password"

Reset it to something you like.

That's it, you should be able to logon to the Adminstrator account.

This is helpful especially if you absolutely MUST be in the Administrator account to be able to install certain software.

(Remember this if you ever get the error: 0x80040707 when installing some software)
